Christians to Beirut, Alawites to the grave

This was the slogan of the Sunni Rebels in the beginning of this war in Syria. Understanding this says a lot about why the Alawite Shia minority government of Syria is literally fighting to the death. This also explains why Hezbollah left Lebanon and came to support the Shias. But now, this cry in the title has now been taken up by Al Qaeda which will mean this war won't end until Assad is gone even if it is 50 years long. Somalia and Syria have been through really bad times. Hopefully Somalia's worst times are over because it sure looks like Syria is just getting started for a long long war in which nobody wins. It is the story of literally every Cold War hostility there was up until 1990. Now here is another one today in 2013. The old Cold War is over. But the new one doesn't even have a name. Maybe a name would be "The Living in Denial War".
