   If you actually think about what surveillance is it has always been around. Mostly it means someone or something watching something. This something could be humans or it could be 

   a sheep herder conducting surveillance his or her sheep to keep them safe from wolves.

   
   

   So then the problem of surveillance always is: "What is this person or group going to do with this information?" This is always the problem and it isn't always easy to find out.

   
   

   When it was just one person watching it was much easier to ascertain what would be done with information. However, now information can be stored potentially for millions of years if it is done properly and almost anything could be done with it including extincting the whole human race on earth with it.

   
   

   But, here is the likely outcome of what today's recorded surveillance actually means to humans here on earth in the present time of within 10 to 20 years:

   
   

   The most likely thing is that the richest most educated people in governments and those who buy this information from individuals either legally or illegally from governments or private surveillance will likely decide who they want to be alive, who they want to become educated, who they want to starve to death worldwide. So, the problem is less focused on individuals and more focused on ethnic groups including poor white trash worldwide. So, groups that have been marginalized are likely to starve to death more, and groups who have survived okay so far will stop surviving as well until the rich and informed of the world are all that's left unless they want servants. This likely is the most plausible reality of what surveillance of the type we now have and will have in the future means. 

   
   

   In other words something like the new Matt Damon movie where the rich live lives of privilege and the poor live short miserable lives is the likely outcome of the present types of surveillance being done on literally all mankind now and into the future. 

   
   

   I have studied computer software and hardware and now how surveillance is moving into flying drones and drones on land and sea or even underground as well. And surveillance (of the recorded kind) is likely on everyone on earth to a greater or lesser degree now.

   
   

   For example, thermal videos of whole cities exist from satellites that watch either video or periodic stills of all cities on earth recorded from space. A thermal video or still can sense the heat of human bodies in homes and walking on the ground or even in buildings 24 hours a day. So, for example, in these sequential stills or videos taken all around the world by satellites if a person knew where you were (in your home or a building or walking or in a vehicle) that day they could follow you within any large city on earth from that thermal video or image thereafter. And this is taken from space. 

   
   

   Then there is the Internet. Most things recording you on the Internet are not trying to watch every keystroke you are making on your computer. However, some people are singled out rightly or wrongly for this. So, no matter what you write on your computer sometimes or permanently connected to the Internet every keystroke is recorded including your space bar hits so they can read all words you type.

   
   

   But, this isn't done to everyone just to certain individuals singled out. For example, like in True Lies Swarzzenegger spies on his own wife (which likely happens sometimes) because secret officers are not required to tell underlings many things except on a need to know basis. So, this kind of thing could and probably does take place. In such a situation the wife wouldn't usually even know who the husband worked for in reality. So, no one might know but the partner (if the agent had one).

   
   

   So, understanding that even when you go to the bathroom or make love in your home or out in the forest in the wilderness someone or more likely some satellite is recording this might be important to know even though likely no one will ever view this thermal image unless it becomes a part of some kind of investigation which wouldn't mean you were being investigated maybe someone you knew directly or indirectly instead.

   
   

   So, understanding that there is NOTHING that you do that can any longer be kept completely secret and that technology for even reading your thoughts is pretty far along in California is important to know too. However, being forewarned is forearmed for the new future we all face now.

   
   

   Getting angry that this is all happening doesn't really help much. Because even though you might be able to temporary lessen your governments surveillance of everyone, there is simply no way to stop companies  (dirty tricks) departments and criminals and unscrupulous individuals from learning literally ANYTHING they want to know about you anytime they want to.

   
   

   In some ways this has always been true because people were hired to watch other people for thousands of years already. The spookiness of this is that it isn't even human what is watching you. And the second spooky level of it is it will be recorded and could stay recorded for a million years and who will eventually view it?
   
   Maybe Thermal movies of our lives will be created for people in the far future to watch concerning their ancestors. So, maybe you would watch your great great grandparents in whatever they are doing now?
   
   Maybe that's how Elohar and Ragna from 7028 AD on the first time line knew where Jonathan Flow was all the time even the very first time they came into contact with him?
