I was listening to Brook Baldwin interview a man in San Diego who had spent time interviewing anti- Russian terrorists in Dagestan. He said that this is sort of a part of an ongoing war that goes back 20 years to 150 years depending upon your point of view. They are not at all like terrorists in our country because you would have to put in place something that would be like being like confederate widow "Black Widows" possibly after the Civil War like in 1870 and 1880 to make any type of useful comparison here. (That didn't really exist of course but what if it did?).
So, he said for every 1 Black widow there are 10 or 20 people helping them. He asked one group why they didn't do more terrorism in Moscow for example. They said "We ran out of money bribing people in order to cause the damage we did (regarding bombings where up to 200 people died at one time within the last 10 years in Moscow or in various parts of Russia.
So, the point he was trying to make is look at the map and look where Sochi is in relationship to Dagestan and Chechnya. They are very near. So, basically if you go to Sochi you are moving into a war zone that has literally been a war zone, is a war zone and likely will be a war zone the next 20 to 50 years like it has been the last 20 years. The Chechnyans lost the war but haven't given up and neither have the Dagestanis and likely may never.
So, it isn't just the Black Widows of women who lost their husbands to Russian Fire and Bombs but also all the 20 or more people per widow helping them in Sochi and other places over there. So, if you go to Sochi remember you are in a war zone between the Muslim Separtists and the Russian Government. To the separatists their war against Russia may never be over until they have their own country or countries. So, as a tourist it would be in some ways like going into Syria to some degree with a stronger government Russia controlling as best they can this situation. But, the people in this region of Russia where Sochi is often support the Separatists so be aware of that.
