I watched this movie again because my wife and daughter were watching it on DVD.

This movie has to get an A in all aspects of the movie for the time it was made. My wife even said that Demi Moore made her career by just wearing her hair short for this movie which might also be true.

Though this is an A movie in all ways and anyone who is a Whoopie Goldberg, Demi Moore, or Patrick Swayze fan should definitely see this movie, it is also one of the most accurate (though Hollywooded up) version of the way things really are on the other side in regard to what happens when people die and pass out of their bodies for the last time.

There are the earthbounds(like the man having psychological problems who teaches Sam to move things). There are ones coming to retrieve a dying mate (like the man who talks to Sam in the Hospital from heaven). Then there are the ones who come to get the villains in the movie from bad places.

What you think and do while in a body here on earth affects what happens to you when you pass on. Since souls appear to be timeless (I mean this in many different ways since souls without a living body don't seem to have any use for time or space unless they are visiting dreams of loved ones). There doesn't appear to be any beginning or end for the majority of souls. Even though some crimes souls committed cause the 2nd death of the soul. (The end of the soul). Possibly someone like  a Hitler might receive the 2nd death or others like him who is responsible for millions of unnecessary deaths.

At the end where Patrick Swayze finishes his work protecting his love and Rita Miller he goes to heaven. I think a way to look at this is he is earning his wings as an angel by protecting the two ladies a lot like an Archangel would.

So, even as still a human in a body on earth one can function often very similar to an angel if one's motivations, thoughts and actions are lived in the  right ways. And it's never too late to start.

So, could he be defined as an angel in training then? You decide.
