Directed by Steven Spielberg. With Richard Dreyfuss, François Truffaut, Teri Garr, Melinda Dillon. After an encounter with U.F.O.s, a line worker feels undeniably ...
One of the most striking things shown which is just as true now as it was then was when Air Traffic Controllers are asking several airline pilots whether they want to report a UFO and they all say, "NO!" because then as now if you report a UFO you have just lost your job and your career.
This is why most people who have real experiences with UFOs don't ever talk to anyone on a professional level about it until they are retired and sometimes not even then.
Close Encounters documents (in fictional form) what many many people experienced in their lives ongoing during and after their experiences with extraterrestrials and their ships. And still do today.
I think Spielberg in writing this analyzed many many experiences that people encountered and created a story around the thread of their experiences in real life.
My son who was about 11 at the time saw one of the "Red remote cameras that glows red". (They show one of these in this movie). They are about 3 feet in diameter. It flew up next to the all glass wall overlooking the ocean next to the fireplace there. He was with a Tibetan Translator from Darjeeling who was about 25 at the time. When they came into the other room where I was playing Christmas carols and everyone was singing, my son said, "Lobsang and I just saw a UFO!" He was excited about the whole thing but Lobsang didn't believe in such things and was pale and almost passing out at the time. By this time in my life I had had so many UFO experiences that this was relatively normal. But, for people who haven't had experiences like this sometimes they pass out or have a heart attack or go into convulsions when they see something real in the UFO actuality. By this time I had had 20 years or more of experiences and my son was also more used to UFO experiences too. So, I had reached out and met others who had had experiences like this too. This Red Glowing Camera (likely video and pictures combined) happened in Christmas Eve likely in 1986 on the coast of Northern California in my father in laws house overlooking the ocean there over a cliff.
Also, my father had met Adamski in the 1950s who studied this kind of phenomena as well.

This is a "Classic movie" about how things really were in the 1970s. This came out the same year as "Star Wars" by the way.
