Escaping Death

I think the people in the U.S. might not be thinking right about the children coming up from Honduras and Guatemala. Basically, they have no life and no future in Honduras where they live. So, likely parents are coming illegally (or other relatives) that are already established in the U.S. for about 85% of them. So, there is a logic to all this that I don't see in the news.

A reporter from the U.S. recently went to Honduras where a lot of the children are from and was walking down a street in a town there. She was saying where she was standing was the only safe place to be (a neutral zone) where the 8 gangs surrounding that area wouldn't kill anyone in that particular zone. But, if she walked one block in any direction it would no longer be safe.

In those kinds of conditions, if you lived there, unless you were associated with one of the 8 gangs you could be killed or harmed at any time. And you would only be safe on the turf of the land that one gang represented. So, you wouldn't be able to even go anywhere they other 7 gangs had their turf without dying.

We wonder why these people are coming north? They are coming north to stay alive. Nothing more. It is pure survival that they come north.

No longer is it just to make a better living. It is now about pure survival and nothing else. We might wonder if they are afraid their children will die on the trek north from Honduras? They are worried their children will die the next day or be sucked into a gang if they stay. And being sucked into a gang is death too by a rival gang eventually before they are 25 or 30 at most.

Later note:
Global Climate change and overpopulation in various areas is making problems worse every day especially for people living on poorer areas worldwide. If there is no opportunity of any kind there, the only way out is either to leave that area or country or join a gang and die young defending your turf. Whether it is the middle east or Central America or poor regions all over the world, basically it is the same. You either find some way to survive or you don't.
