Scientologists are against Anti-depressents

I'm not a Scientologist but I have met some of them. However, I have met Moonies too and I'm not a Moonie either. But, living in coastal California you are going to meet a lot of people of very diverse beliefs from around the world. That is a given.

My personal reason for being against anti-depressants is that people use them instead of seeking counseling.  So, it is a lot like deciding, "Hey! I'm going to treat my compound fracture broken leg myself! It's cheaper!"

Except it's even worse than that because by using Anti-depressants you lose your reality completely. By taking away your "normal feelings" you never deal with the problems in your life and chances are it will lead to a much quicker death.

So, by taking anti-depressants you "cover over" the things you  need to be aware of to survive long term. Pain is one of the things that keeps us alive. Properly controlled anger for me has been one of the main reasons I was successful in my life in all ways. When you cover over your emotions there is no longer any basis of reality and your emotional and mental death might come much sooner than you think.

Life is Hell! If you start here and don't just think it's supposed to be a fairy tale then it's going to get better by realizing what the base point is you are starting from. But, if you think life is supposed to be a fairy tale then your death or insanity might not be very far away.

Accepting what life actually is instead of some fairy tale a relative told you is where to start your road to recovery. I've watched many very intelligent people end their lives in their 20s and it's not a pretty picture. But, if you are realistic you can have a really great life. But, if you aren't practical, you can't.
