The Problem with Pot

I was 21 in 1969. So, in college especially I knew or knew of people who smoked pot, or used hallucinogenics which was pretty common then in college at every level.

However, remember that even though Marijuana (Pot) is not a major Halucinogenic it is still a mild one especially regarding the alteration of the perception of time. This is one reason people shouldn't drive "High" on Marijuana. However, unlike Alcohol that might "Wear off" within hours or at the very least 12 to 24 hours if someone doesn't drink anymore. Marijuana is not as clear if it "wears off". People describe it more as fading but not really wearing off.

And now because of hybridization techniques compounded over the last 40 to 50 years in the woods or underground around the world, marijuana isn't what people smoked in the 1960s anymore at all. Most pot is 100 to 300 times as powerful and likely 100 to 300 times as Hallucinogenic than before too.

One of the reasons people vote in states for the legalization of pot (people over 30 or 40) is that they remember the milder stuff they smoked in college themselves of "Maui Wowee" or Thai Stick or various other things back then that they once smoked or ate in brownies at college parties. However, they don't realize that this isn't what is available now. What is available now is 100 to 300 times as powerful and some of it might be comparable to taking LSD compared the marijuana smoked or eaten in the 1960s and 1970s.

So, older adults in this way are mostly fooled into voting for the old stuff when there is no "old stuff" sold anymore anywhere. So, it is sort of "Bait and Switch" for older voters which is problematic not only for the U.S. but also for the world.
