Enlightenment is completely overwhelming in every way

One description of enlightenment would be: "You see everything good and bad in life and you feel incredible pain and joy at what you see all at once. However, if you are a strong enough person this doesn't drive you insane or to your death or both. Instead, one feels in addition to pain great compassion and helpfulness towards all beings around them and throughout the universe. So, to survive this oceanic overwhelming experience one's motivation is to help all beings away from suffering and ignorance and towards enlightenment.

It is important to understand that not all people would survive enlightenment because it is just so completely overwhelming in it's nature. So, if you embark on a path to enlightenment: "Are you strong enough to actually survive enlightenment?" This might be a useful question to ask yourself.

It's sort of like saying: "I want to be a lawyer or I want to be an astronaut or I want to be someone that surfs down 50 to 75 foot waves or someone who wants to be a jet fighter pilot or airline pilot."

Are you really ready for the commitment of actually doing that and following through on it. Because becoming enlightened is a commitment to yourself and all life in the universe past, present and future.

So, if you literally become a saint of (any) religion or just a secret saint like most are, then you have the courage and commitment and wisdom and heart to follow through with your commitment to enlightenment for the betterment of yourself and all beings in the universe past, present and future.

When you fully understand enlightenment neither time nor space is any obstacle at all to full enlightenment.
