What Russia and China have in common historically

The main thing they have in common is the belief that order is more important than human rights.
It is a historic belief that unless the aristocracy survives, no one and no order will survive.

This belief has persisted in both countries for a thousand years or more each.

What is the main problem with this belief now?

I see the main problem is ecological devastation of both countries. We saw this the most in cascading ecological disasters in the Soviet Union. Though this has become less since Russia became a democracy in the 1990s, still the corruption of Order over human rights is harming Russia once again.

And now in China in Tianjin we see something similar to Chernobyl once again. It is not the only "hidden" ecological devastation in China, it is simply one that likely won't be swept under the rug as easily as all the others the last 20 years or so as China economically developed as a country.

The reasons this likely won't be sucessfully swept under the carpet like thousands of other deaths through water pollution, poison milk, poison food and all the rest is the whole world is watching much like we did with Fukushima.

And it is unlikely that the Chinese people will put up with this one like they did the other ones. However, we will have to wait and see what this brings worldwide.

The one good thing for sure that likely will come out of this is ALL countries are going to take a closer look at how they store Sodium Cyanide when it is close to water sources or cities or housing developments.
