A few drops of rain today where I live

I was driving with my wife and a few drops of rain fell on the windshield and my wife said, "I hope it really rains." And I said, "A friend of mine in the Mt. Shasta area said it was raining there today. " I looked up into the sky and rain drops were falling but most were not hitting the ground because of the relatively dry air where I was but maybe 10 to 20 drops actually made it to the windshield here on the coast. We live on the Northern California coast.
