It is feared that hundreds of tons of radiated water in tanks has possibly already washed into the ocean even though radiation detectors in the ocean aren't corroborating this. another fear is radiation contamination on land because of the flooding in this area of Japan. Dozens of people in this general area have already been lifted by helicopters from the roofs of their homes often as their homes were being washed away in the floods. So, this is an ongoing problem until Saturday.
However, it is presently about 4:30 AM in Japan and Friday as I write this at 12:24 pm Pacific time on Thursday here in Northern California. So, within 24 hours the area should stop raining and possibly by the end of the weekend maybe it might stop flooding too if they are lucky.
Note: A reporter said that radiated water for sure has already gone into the ocean because of flooding. It is uncertain how much at this point. So, a major effort is underway to contain this problem. However, it is also possible you can no longer drive there in any vehicle because of flooding so likely Fukushima nuclear power plant is only reachable by helicopter or boat at this point.
