When people look from around the world often they might think that the U.S. is a lawless and awful place. However, what is really happening is we have Genuine (as opposed to fake) feedback loops where problems often are solved.
For example, there likely are no working nuclear reactors in California because people demonstrated against them so long here most or all of them have shut down now, (at least the ones that generate electricity). IN a place that can get (I've lived through a 7.1 myself) really big earthquakes that last a long time (remember Fukushima that will send radiation through the water table into the ocean from the meltdowns there for the next 25,000 years or more and there is nothing anyone can do presently to stop it on earth?) So, radiated fish on that side of Japan is a given from now on (At least in my lifetime). So, if you are going to eat fish from that side of Japan a Geiger counter would be a good idea to protect yourself and your loved ones from radiation poisoning the next 25,000 years or so.
So, at least we solved that problem pretty much here in California. Imagine the thousands to millions that would have to die in a place like China before this kind of solution could be or would be found?
So, as chaotic as we might appear to be the alternative would be a constant bloody gun filled revolution constantly going on here.
We solve the problems that most other people just try to sweep under the rug.
We're not perfect but for a country our size we are something to think about the way we solve problems (at least the way we solve them here in the U.S.).
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
