Shooter At Orlando Concert Kills Christina Grimmie From 'The Voice'

The maniac who fatally gunned down 22-year-old “The Voice” star Christina Grimmie in Orlando was armed to the teeth, police said Saturday.
The 21-year-old shooter, who cops declined to identify, arrived at Grimmie’s post-concert meet-and-greet with fans packing two handguns, a large hunting knife and two extra loaded magazines, Orlando Police Chief John Mina said.
The singer’s brother, Mark Grimmie, tackled the gunman after he opened fire, according to police. During the melee the madman committed suicide by shooting himself.
A witness described the scene after the show as a "laid-back vibe" that devolved into "chaos everywhere."

"I didn't see the guy come up to her. My back was to her at that moment," 21-year-old Karla Abel told People magazine. "But suddenly there was this sound. I at first thought it was some sort of firecracker, or even something with the microphones inside. It took me a minute to figure out what it was. I think there were like six or seven shots."

"Everything went f--king crazy," she added. "People were throwing themselves onto the ground, and covering their heads. All I could do was look at the exit doors and duck and run out. But it was terrifying. Everyone was screaming."
The killer had drove from another Florida city and planned to return, Mina said, without naming the city.
"There is no indication that they knew each other," Mina said.
Authorities are still searching through the suspect’s phone and computer to determine a motive.

Grimmie, a native of Marlton, N.J., was murdered after 10 p.m. Friday  while signing autographs at a merchandise table following her concert at Orlando’s Plaza Live theater.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Grimmie said in a video posted to Facebook the day of the concert.
“Please come to the show today if you live near Orlando.”
Around 120 people were in the theater when the gunman made his move. None were injured, according to Mina.

The singer, who skyrocketed from YouTube stardom to mainstream fame on the NBC show, died at a nearby hospital.
The venue had no metal detectors and the unarmed security staff only inspected concertgoers’ bags. Events were suspended there “until further notice,” Plaza Live said in a statement.
Grieving celebrities and fans posted memorials online using the hashtag #RIPchristina.
Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, who is a coach on “The Voice,” shared a photo of him with the fallen singer.

“I’m sad, shocked and confused. We love you so Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this...this just isn’t fair,” he wrote on Instagram.
Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato also shared their condolences on social media.
"Too young & too much talent to leave us this soon. Sending (love) 2 her loved ones & fans," Jonas wrote.
Current and former “Voice" coaches Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera also mourned the loss.
“So sad passing of @TheRealGrimmie. Beautiful member of #TheVoice family & true #Fighter. My heart goes out to her family, friends & fans. xo," Aguilera tweeted Saturday.
“We were fortunate to know and work with Christina Grimmie, a wonderful young woman who reveled in sharing her talent and passion for music with the world,” Radio Disney said in a statement.
Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign, said the senseless shooting was yet another example of the scourge of gun violence.
“(Grimmie’s) promise was cut short by bullets fired from a gun in the hands of someone intent on doing harm — someone who clearly had no business owning a gun,” Gross said. “Christina wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time — she was just doing what she loved with the fans she adored.”
Eerily, a later deleted message posted to Grimmie's verified Twitter account at 10:39 a.m. Saturday read, "The end." It was unclear if the account had been hacked.
Footage of the singer's final performance — a spirited rendition of her song "Without Him" — surfaced online hours after the shooting.
