The "Star Trek" franchise hasn't reached its final frontier.
Captain Kirk and his USS Enterprise crew will blast back into theaters for a fourth movie in the rebooted space adventure series, Paramount Pictures announced Monday.
The studio did not issue a release date but revealed that the new film will center on Kirk, played by Chris Pine, as he finally crosses paths with his father.
The rest of the remaining cast is also expected to return.

Chris Hemsworth, who starred as George Kirk in 2009's "Star Trek" blockbuster, will also reprise his role in the new movie after not appearing in the last two. The rest of the current cast is expected to return as well.
'Star Trek Beyond' makes sure franchise will live long & prosper
The announcement comes four days before the newest installment to the franchise, "Star Trek Beyond" opens in theaters on July 22.
The newly announced film will mark the first "Star Trek" movie without Anton Yelchin, who was tragically killed last month after his Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled down his driveway and crashed into him.
The actor's sudden death sparked major uncertainty over how the franchise would continue without Yelchin, who played Chekov in the series. It remains unclear how Paramount will address his absence in the fourth movie.
“Star Trek Beyond,” which stars Zoe Saldana, hits theaters this Friday.

Yelchin's co-star Simon Pegg recently told the Daily News that it's difficult to imagine how they'll move the story forward without the 27-year-old actor.
Anton Yelchin’s parents thank fans for their support
"Obviously right now the idea of going on without Anton is inconceivable," Pegg said. "But I'm certain that Paramount would want the story to go on and if so, we'd have to find a way and it certainly would not involve recasting that character. That can not happen."
