The GOP presumptive presidential nominee tweeted out the image early Saturday — and linked to a Fox News poll on June 29 that said 58% of respondents felt Clinton was corrupt.
When angry responses rolled in, Trump’s campaign released an updated image about two hours later that replaced the Star of David with a red circle.
But the Twittersphere wasn’t about to let the gaffe go.

The initial tweet, with the tagline, “Crooked Hillary -- Makes History!” — soon disappeared from Trump’s twitter timeline.
But it continued to circulate as outraged users shared screenshots of the initial tweet on social media.

“Just in case you missed his worst tweet yet....” wrote Kevin Dunbar, with a picture of the original Star of David poster.
“Sometimes deleting a tweet doesn’t change a damn thing. This is one of those instances,” said Ariana Gic.
Trump quickly deleted the tweet, replacing the star shape with a circular design.

The real estate mogul drew scorn from many for his refusal earlier this year to disavow an endorsement from Duke — first by pretending to not know who Duke was, and then blaming a “lousy earpiece” for his silence in a TV interview.
The GOP candidate has also vowed to build a wall on the Mexican border, and spewed racist attacks at the Hispanic-American judge overseeing Trump University lawsuits.
He’s also pledged to ban Muslim immigrants from countries with a history of terrorism.
