You have the incident in Nice. You have the GOP Convention. You have many shootings including Dallas in the United States. What a perfect time for a coup while Erdogan was on vacation? What a perfect way to arrest all his loyal opposition to his plans for ending democracy in Turkey and making it the Sunni Iran of the Middle East or The Islamic State and Caliphate of Turkey. Erdogan's timing for this fake coup is amazing! Kudos for his timing!
However, sooner or later the world will realize what Erdogan has actually done and be horrified by it.
However, that might be too late to save the lives of those who want a secular democracy who are the leaders much like the Republicans and Democrats of the U.S. However, pretending all this is normal for a Middle Eastern Country might also prevent a war between NATO and Turkey. I don't think so. I think war between Turkey and NATO is only about 10 years away. And war between Iran and Turkey is much sooner than that.
Erdogan reminds me more right now of Saddam Hussein, now I see what he has done to his people.
However, the country that might have the most to gain from what Erdogan is doing right now is Iran. They know exactly what is happening to Erdogan and they might start a war soon while he is vulnerable to them. In fact, they might have even been involved in this coup from the start.
So, it's crazy crazy times we live in with all the deaths and confusion which reminds me once again so much of the history of the 1930s in the World in Europe and the Middle East.
