John Oliver used his "Last Week Tonight" stage to again assail republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over what he sees as all his latest eye-popping actions.
Branding him an "imploding star," Oliver seemed to rejoice in Trump being his own worst enemy in a campaign that has rarely seemed headed in the right direction of late.

Trump's Latest Reboot

The HBO host noted by his estimations, last week's speech on proposed tax codes was "the 53rd consecutive week Donald Trump was going to put his campaign back on track" only to have something deter him along the way.
In the latest such instance, Trump spent a good portion of his rally time seemingly insinuating that some gun right supporters might consider assassinating rival Hillary Clinton if she is elected and imploring that President Obama "is the founder of ISIS."
Later, he begrudgingly took back at least some of those comments, under the veil that he was only being sarcastic.
"Yes, 'sarcasm' is a bulls-t excuse," Oliver countered, noting that Trump later even took back the power of his apology by arguing his words were "not that sarcastic."

Dangerous Words

Oliver went on to note Trump's inciting words didn't end there. As the week went on, there he was again riling up supporters in Pennsylvania by claiming the only way he can lose the general election and the state itself is if the process is somehow "rigged."
Forget about the little matter of some recent polls having Trump trailing in the state by double digits and the fact a democratic presidential candidate hasn't lost there in the last six elections.
"What is really worth taking note of there, and is worth thinking about, is that he's suggesting the election may be stolen by his opponent-and that's actually dangerous," Oliver said.
The host then informed his audience that a search of Trump's campaign website reveals staffers are now asking supporters to register as a "Trump Election Observer," described as a volunteer Election Day position that entails keeping an eye out for any improprieties at polling places across the country.
Oliver shared that his team instantly signed up for the position, and later received an e-mail from the Trump campaign that informed, "We are going to do everything we are legally allowed to do to stop crooked Hillary from rigging this election."
Oliver called the claim "troubling, because I'm not sure Donald Trump knows what he's legally allowed to do. His own attorney once had to apologize for saying 'You can't rape your own spouse.'"
