We have been waiting over a month now for a puppy, a German Shepard puppy that is related to the world Champion German Shepard in his class. So, for my wife especially this was a really big deal. We wanted to have a male because my dog that we got around 2000 was a Long Hair German Shepard and Border Collie mix. Then our Jack Russell terrier- Corgi mix dog got into a fight with a Raccoon and had to be put to sleep a month later from kidney failure which really upset my daughter who was very young then (around 8) and this was her first dog. So, we got then, a Corgi Female puppy and she lived until 2018 when she finally passed away around 15 years of age or so. The Long Hair German Shepard-Border Collie mix male was the single smartest dog I have ever known. this new puppy is one of those amazingly smart blood lines too and he should be about 85 or 90 pounds. The breeder is also a dog trainer and shows one of his German Shepard's too at dog shows. We also plan to get another Female Corgi within a couple of years. It's always better to have a male and a female dog together if you are going to have two dogs, this way they don't tend to fight and hurt each other because female dogs usually take over in this situation no matter what size they are and male dogs tend to defer to the female dogs, just like in family situations a lot around the world with humans.
So, my wife is sort of in heaven right now since all our kids have grown up and are living on their own now. I'm mostly grateful that she is so happy with a new puppy more than anything else and of course I was tired of grieving for the German shepard- Border Collie and the Corgi who passed away respectively in 2016 and 2018. And in 2016 after the Shepard Boder collie passed away we found a dog that the female corgi liked as a companion that was a Yellow lab that was a rescue dog and older but got along with our older corgi and he lived until she passed away and then he sort of gave up and passed away to because he didn't want to go on without her. They were real companions in this.
So now, after losing 3 dogs since 2016 we are finally ready for another dog and today it came home with us because it is now 8 weeks old. He is a golden eared Sable colored German Shepard. His mother is mostly black but he is sable with Golden ears and reminds me a lot of the brilliant German Shepard- Border Collie that passed away in 2016. So, this is good for both my wife and I to have a new friend to hang out with. I want to take him out in the forest but my wife wants to make sure he has another shot before I do that so we can make sure he grows up to be the 85 to 90 pound character he is meant to be.
Amazing Day!
Our kids are excited too because we sent videos to them and pictures on What's App of the new puppy! plus we have a 5 year old grandson and a year and a half year old grandson that will both love this amazing puppy too as he grows up from puppy into adult!
