From my point of view I would have to say "Yes!"
But that's just my point of view.
I have also been to India and Nepal and seen 500,000 Tibetan Buddhists who were very sincere and Buddhism (all kinds) doesn't formally believe in God. (But it might be important to understand that believing in God wasn't what Buddha found important. What Buddha found important was being kind to oneself and to all others.
He felt people get all caught up believing in God or whether or not they believe in God when what they really should be doing is learning how to be kind to themselves and all others.
IF you grew up in the 1950s like I did and saw how many Christians and others were incredibly fanatical about whatever they believed you would understand how important how Buddha actually saw things actually is.
Because in the end if you aren't kind to yourself and others you are starting a war like Trump always does every day with everyone on earth.
So, is believing in God useful?
I wouldn't be alive now and writing this for you to read if I didn't believe in God to begin with.
I'm alive ONLY because I believe in God and so I'm grateful to God for the amazing life I have lived and will live on into the future.
