It's unrealistic to put Trump in jail because it will harm the presidency long term for hundreds of years into the future

Why?

No president has ever gone to jail after being president for a variety of reasons. Even Richard Nixon knew enough to resign before he was impeached and then he had President Ford who replaced him pardon him to protect the presidency. So, even if Trump was impeached, newly sworn in President Mike Pence would be forced to pardon Trump for all Federal offenses he is guilty of in order to protect the office of presidency for all future presidents of the United States.

This is just realistic. Pelosi doesn't want to impeach Trump until Republicans in the Senate want to impeach him too. This is realistic too. So, putting Trump in jail just isn't going to happen (at least for Federal Crimes). He might still go to jail for state crimes though. This actually could happen that Trump serves time in a New York State Prison in the future. (but realistically I doubt that very much too).

So, what is going on? I'm thinking it's only a verbal way to sound tough to her Democratic Congresspeople in the House and Senate because she knows that impeaching Trump right now likely is suicidal to Democrats. So, saying she wants him in jail isn't realistic at all but it sounds good to other Democrats and that's all.
