Hillary Clinton definitely blames Sanders Voters for voting Trump in, that much is for sure. So, by taking it out on Sanders she also harms his voters too in various ways.
It reminds me of how Hillary harmed Tulsi Gabbard's presidential campaign by saying that Tulsi was being groomed by Putin to take over after Trump.
But, regarding candidates in general the only one I know of who could actually beat Trump is still Biden. Trump got impeached trying to stop Biden because he knows he can beat anyone else including Sanders. Likely Sanders might be the easiest one for Trump to beat because Sanders is so close to actually being a communist that he spent his honeymoon in Moscow in the Soviet Union. Not many people know that, for example.
But, to me the winning ticket would be Biden-Warren. Why?
Because you make all sorts of demographics happy. Biden because he is the ONLY Democratic Candidate capable of carrying independents and moderate to conservative black votes because all the rest are seen as just too far left. And Warren as the VP candidate because women are really pissed off that Hillary lost last time and they need to sneak a potential woman in as VP who might be president in another 4 years in 2024.
