Raising a puppy keeps you in the moment

It's sort of like raising a baby when you are an empty nester like my wife and I too. It makes you be present especially if this is a puppy worth keeping for you for the next 15 years or so as a family member. So, the little howls, the little messes it makes while potty training to be housebroken, the need for water and food also keeps you in the moment. Maintaining a blog like I have since 1999 first with geocities and then starting in 2007 this one and dragonofcompassion.com and sometimes The Spiritual Path also here at blogger.com

We have a 4 month old Blue Merle Corgi puppy that we got at about 8 weeks old. Though I'm 71
years old presently hopefully I will be around most or all of her life. Staying alive and sharp you sort of need something like a puppy if you are retired to keep you present in the moment to keep you sharp and going. They make you get up in the morning to go outside in the yard and to take walks so you and they both get the exercise you need every day. You go out to see the world and whether it is sunny or rainy or even snowy. They keep you going when your kids are far away traveling the world or working or going to school too.

Raising a puppy keeps you in the moment which keeps you clear and alive even in retirement when you might have no reason at all to get up in the morning. Maintaining a blog I find is a discipline that helps keep you going too. So, if you like to write or comment on world happenings like I do I highly recommend it to keep you going and to keep you relevant in your lives.
