Libertarianism was what started this nation. When it started it meant that you literally could do anything you wanted as long as you didn't harm anyone else doing it.
So, this meant, you could drink yourself to death, and do any dangerous thing you wanted to do. You could make a million dollars or be a drug addict or do anything you wanted as long as it didn't kill anyone else but you.
So, what I'm basically saying here is you have the freedom to kill yourself but not to make everyone else watch.
This is a good way to describe the world I grew up in where people still felt this way.
But, the Viet Nam War, the assassination of Kennedy and everything else has changed people from the way they were still in the 1950s which is much much different than then (at least in California) and the west coast where I live.
In some places this way of thinking still survives and a lot of these people voted for Ron Paul for president in past elections who is Senator Rand Paul's father and Senator Rand Paul is also a Libertarian by the way who also tested positive for Coronavirus and who is also a doctor. I'm not sure what all this means by the way.
Libertarian is not limited to being Republican because there are Libertarian Democrats too by the way.
So, what does this have to do with now?
It means you have the freedom to die of coronavirus from being stupid or you can be smart and stay home and not get it and wait until there is a vaccine. This is what I mean. But, most people as we all know are neither smart nor stupid but somewhere in between where they are smart enough to stay alive and find a way forward. So, generally speaking we have more smart people because most really stupid people here in the U.S. already died along the way so only the smarter ones survived in the first place.
Either way, God help us all now!
Because natural selection is killing Americans at a more terrible rate each day now!
