CNN Beijing locks down office building with workers still inside after single Omicron case detected

partial quote of CNN article: "---the Beijing woman infected with Omicron had not come into contact with a confirmed case and hadn't left the capitol in the last 14 days raising fears the variant may already be spreading in the (Beijing) community." end partial quote.

This is what I thought was happening anyway. However, imagine someone trying to force people to stay in their office building after an Omicron case had been discovered in Europe or the U.S. It would be bedlam and demonstrations everywhere. And bringing pillows and blankets so they can sleep more comfortably without cushions or mattresses? That would be a big no no in the west too. And what about food and water? or showers? No one said anything about that either. and what about the spread of the omicron through the whole group from doing this? In some ways this could make the whole thing worse than it needed to be. And now imagine this sort of thing happening in every big city in China one by one. what about people who have kids at home with babysitters while they work? Or what about latch key kids taking care of themselves? It's just a disaster in the making on every level imaginable.
