I became interested in Comparative Religion during the late 1960s and early 1970s

I was interested in what in common all religions on earth had with each other. I was I guess surprised in some ways that they ALL are basically trying to do the same things. They all want their tribes and nations and religions to survive so they tell all sorts of true and not true stories around the world to accomplish this end.

The problems result mostly when religions conflict and go to war like the Muslims and the Hindus (Brahmins) did in the 1950s when thousands died and Pakistan and East Pakistan (which eventually became Bangladesh) came from all this bloodshed of Hindus and Brahmins driving most Muslims out of Central India.

There have been many many religious wars if you have studied history even between Catholics and Protestants in Europe and between Spain and England over the end of Catholicism in England because of King Henry VIII because he wanted to have a living son as an heir to his throne mostly.

So, he was married many times and beheaded several wives in order to try to have a son to rule as heir. However, this did not work out and Queen Elizabeth I became Queen after he died. She had one of the longest rules of any monarch in England only to be surpassed by both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II who is in her 90s now and her husband just recently passed away, Prince Phillip in his late 90s too.

So, for me, studying comparative religion surprised me in many different ways and it taught me that most of what most people are taught in their religions isn't really true (especially concerning other religions than their own).

I think most religious adherents of all religions on earth would be very surprised to realize just how much they have been lied to about a whole lot of things in their religions. But, because they were brainwashed as children it is likely they might never know the lies they have been told unless they decide to study the truth for themselves some day.

The old Adage:

"Know the Truth and the Truth Will Set you FREE!" applies here to people all over the world.

It's not that religions are completely bad. For example, they serve a pacifying purpose inside of each culture on earth. However, then it can also create conflicts between cultures too. So, if you travel the world you have to know when to keep your mouth shut to stay alive in some situations.

So, world travel is quite a skill if you want to survive it. This is why you need to study the countries you are going to visit before you go there so you can survive them and to be able to come home safely to your own country once again.
