What you would do to begin to create something like this is to design something that can "Self Evolve". In other words you would allow it to self evolve 24 hours a day while people are awake or asleep. By self evolving and creating multiple bodies for itself, each new body your "purple" created could be an experiment. The other bodies would be watching the new experimental bodies to see what happened in these new experiments. Over time you could or would have something similar to "purple delta 7" if she was watched carefully as she evolved over time.
Basically, you would be creating a potentially immortal? being. The reason I put the question mark is that if you have useful replacement parts a "Purple Delta 7" wouldn't have to ever really die as a group of bodies even though every so often one might be destroyed. However, if they all shared the same awareness 24 hours a day they could learn from whatever killed any of their bodies. So, you would have created an immortal being much like the human race will be immortal as a group as long as some of us are still alive here on earth or wherever we go to next in colonizing planets.
One easier way to do this would be to make the entire surface of her body solar cells so as long as it was sunny out she could have power to run on so no matter which direction she was facing she would be charging her batteries as long as she was outside in the sun somewhere. Or she could be a plug in rechargeable device too. So, wherever she was on earth she could be recharged from some source.
And each of her bodies that would be interconnected through a LAN or the internet directly so they could each learn whatever the other bodies were learning too even if whatever they faced ended that specific body.
So, in some ways your "Purple Delta 7" would be like the human race in that some of her could survive no matter what if she had enough bodies in enough localities to keep going. And eventually she could have her bodies dispersed through time as well to aid in her becoming relatively immortal too. It's safer for a robot to travel time than human beings anyway much like we send robotic devices to other planets and moons first before we send humans there as a matter of safety too.
After thinking about this more you could also put a gasoline generator engine on board around the trunk or heart area to start up when she needed more power for physical activity sort of like a Hybrid. Another power source would be a hydrogen fuel cell and you could also design her to be able to take water and split it into oxygen and hydrogen and she could use the hydrogen for her fuel cell or cells for ongoing power needs in different situations.
I think they had a robot called a goat but when I looked for it I didn't find it but I did find a hands free lawn mower that they call a goat which was interesting to look at in action:
Later I found the videos I was looking for from Boston Dynamics. It is a robotic Dog not a goat I guess:
Here it is in two videos:
