I think people are starving in Covid Lockdowns and too many have died more from starving being locked in their apartments throughout China than by Covid. So, the Covid Lockdowns likely are killing and maiming more people than Covid is which is why people are demonstrating for enough freedom to stay alive. Chinese policies are killing so many people and maiming them that Chinese people have no choice but to fight back. This is what seems to be happening.
If you take away people's right to stay alive, get food, and make a living long enough then if they want to survive they have no choice but to fight back against whoever is stealing their lives and killing and maiming them.
