Our Housekeeper walked our dog on the beach today because it was my wife's idea. She has been working for us now since 2014 and has become like a member of our family sort of like one of our daughters (this would make 4) if we included our housekeeper.
The wind chill was very low at the beach today. We both remarked that this is much colder than 20 degrees if it were snow and sun somewhere in Colorado (where she used to work) and California in the mountains somewhere. Many people who don't live near the water don't understand just how cold it can be even at 50 degrees if it is windy and how bone chilling it can be like today. It's true I have been much warmer skiing at 7000 feet in 20 degrees with sun and no wind than I was today walking my dog along the beach in 20 mile per hour winds in 50 degrees.
Brrrr!
It's kind of like Mark Twain famously said of the San Francisco area:
"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."
