    Similar:
    wearing down

I was using the war by Russia (and possibly China) against Ukraine as an obvious war of attrition. Unless the U.S. and NATO find a way to win this war and soon it's likely that Russia and China will win this war against Ukraine over time.

Because it's too expensive on all levels to continue a war like this for the democracies of earth. Why?
Because nations like the U.S. and Japan are so far away from the violence so shipping weapons to Ukraine become very very expensive and Americans likely won't bear this expense forever.

So, unless the U.S. and the other democracies find a way to end this war and soon we are very likely to lose this war in the long run because American patience for this will run out within the next year or two likely unless something else happens to change this.
