We lived on my Grandfather's 2 1/2 acres of Black Cherry Trees and Apple trees and boysenberries and Raspberries then in Lake Forest Park near Seattle, Washington then.
My Grandfather bought his first Black and White TV and I had never seen TV at all before then because I was 4. So, the first thing I watched was the Republican Convention for the 1952 Presidential election which was sort of like Watching a Circus performance for me at age 4 then.
I only listened to programs on the radio then like Gildersleave and Fibber McGee and Molly on the radio so I didn't expect to be entertained by a TV then because after all I was only 4 and things were much different then than now for everyone.
MY Grandfather's TV was light colored Wood and about maybe 21 inches which was a big TV then.
My parents didn't buy a TV until I was 6 years old when we lived in Tujunga, in the Los Angeles area up against the mountains then which would have been 1954 when I was 6.
My favorite program was Superman with Steve Reeves then on TV "Faster than a speeding bullet!"
The ONLY reason they bought a TV was that I was spending too much time next door at my friend's house watching TV then.
His Father called my Grandmother who I called Nana "Nana Banana" as a nickname then as a joke.
I'm pretty sure my grandmother didn't like that but people were like that then.
