When was the last time we had a woman President (of any race)?

This is why Democrats are not surprised but just unhappy the world isn't different than it is. This is the point where you realize that most people still live pretty much in the 1950s in the middle and South of America where nothing much has changed since then. Most of the Changes (except for a few college towns here and there have come to places like California, New York, Chicago and a few other places like Denver and Boulder and Santa Fe, New Mexico and places like this were people who graduated or attended college bought homes and raised their kids.

However, most of the U.S. hasn't changed much at all since the 1950s.

Is this good or bad? I think it's both always.

It's good in that there is a stability of things not changing much since the Revolutionary war or the Civil war but it's also bad that most people might not have experienced progress much either.

However, we could debate forever what the definition of progress actually was or is and that I think is a good thing that these debates continue to try to "Get it Right" in the decisions people make long term everywhere.

The point is no one has all the answers. At best all of us usually have some of the answers but not all of them.

So, figuring out what is good and what is bad about ongoing progress is likely a good thing long term for us all.
