I would like to share a memory regarding Mount Wilson from 1956 when I was 6 years old and lived then in Tujunga and went to grade school there. My next door neighbor Danny had a father who worked up at Mt. Wilson and one day he took Danny and I up there to stay there with him and play around the transmission towers for all the radio and TV stations in Los Angeles then. There was no cable TV yet (at least in Los Angeles that I knew of regarding the 13 TV stations including NBC,CBS, and ABC networks then. So, we played up here then in 1956 all day and went home with him in his Willys Jeep that he used for the snow up there during the winter to get to work on the paved road then IN 1956.
AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO BELOW MT. WILSON ALMOST BURNED UP ALONG WITH ALL THE COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT THAT HAS BEEN UPDATED SINCE 1956 TECHNOLOGY NOW.

Firefighters continue to protect Mount Wilson after fire threat last week
Firefighters continue to monitor Mount Wilson, home to communication towers and beloved hiking trails, after the Eaton Fire threatened the area last week, the Angeles National Forest said in a post on X.
The fire reached the area Friday, but “due to previous fuel treatment work done by the Angeles National Forest and the heroic efforts of firefighting personnel,” there was no impact to valuable areas, the post said.
Firefighters will continue to stay in the area to monitor for potential hotspots, they said.
