It appears he grew up in Pacific Palisades and went to Pepperdine University in Malibu. My son in law went to pepperdine and got an advanced degree there recently too (within the last few years).
But, he's right about these fires!
There has never been anything like them before in California. The only fires that remind me of these ones were in Lahaina and Paradise, California where the whole city was lost. I was looking at the fire map and it looks like parts of Santa Monica have burned down along with Altadena and Pasadena. It's possible that some of the footage of the Rose Parade might be gone too (where the parade was) not sure.
The latest fire "The Lydia Fire" in Ventura and Oxnard we are calling a friend about. He told us that he is okay but a friend of his lost 75 Indian Motorcycles (antiques) and he couldn't get fire insurance for his house so he has lost everything with no insurance. About 40% of what you see burning down has no fire insurance because fire insurance is so expensive.
But, you can be sure that almost no one (at any price) will get insurance for their homes in Los Angeles County or surrounding areas after this. Even in Santa Barbara we are paying 8000 dollars a year for fire insurance on a home there which is highway robbery but if you don't pay it and have a fire you lose everything you own.
This is a Disaster because of Fire Insurance which will destroy many people in Los Angeles county simply because they won't be able to get fire insurance at any price that they can afford. So, if there is a fire they too will lose everything just like about 40% of the people who own what has burned down already.
Epic disaster present and future because of this!
