Though I knew it was coming I didn't know where it was going to hit. So, the month of December of 2004 was very difficult for me because I didn't want my family or myself to die in the Earthquake since I knew it was going to be a very bad one and that thousands of people or more were going to die. So, until it happened on December 26th the day after Christmas I walked into my father in laws den where he was watching CNN where it was showing thousands of people swept away in Tsunami waves live on TV which was horrific to watch.
So, I had two feelings that I had to deal with:
1. I was very grateful to be alive and that my family was still alive and that it hit somewhere else.
While Simultaneously:
2. I felt very bad for those people who died (250,000) in Indonesia, Thailand, Ceylon and on many islands in the Pacific ocean and elsewhere. I think that was the time that the tidal wave tore up Santa Cruz Harbor pretty good too in California because of the angle of the tidal wave hitting there. It also hit South America too many places. All places in the Pacific Ocean area were affected in various ways.
At that point I was also happy that we had bought a house at least at an elevation of 300 feet so in the future it was much less likely that our home would be washed away too in another Tidal Wave or Tsunami.
