Our government is a large one. In individual European States there are less people and so each state has developed it's government to govern that smaller state country even before the EU was invented.
However, our country was always sort of "Manifest Destiny" and so even though we have states they have always pretty much been combined in one country whether that was done by Great Britain or by locals I think both are true for whatever the reasons.
However, because of the largeness and cumbersomeness of the United States we cannot turn on a dime so to speak and have a new government when it suits one or more states (at least so far). So, even though Trump is 78 years old and seems to be faltering a lot now I'm not sure at this point what it would take to dislodge him from being president of the United States.
To make matters even worse he picked a Vice President who couldn't really run the U.S. and is only a "YES" man. Then on top of this we have speaker of the House Mike Johnson who seems like a likeable enough person who is actually 3rd in line now after Trump and Vance he is number 3. However, I don't think most people would want and unelected President unless we were in an all out war or something.
And for all intents and purposes (even though this could be going on now) the public isn't being told about it for whatever the reason. (Sort of like how we weren't told that Russia actually killed Kennedy in order that a nuclear war didn't break out then in 1963.
In military matters and in government the U.S. is very big on "Chain of Command" which is also why we have tended to usually win large wars in the past because of this "Chain of Command" whereas many other nations soldiers used to run away whenever an officer was killed. That doesn't happen in the U.S. because if the officer dies the next officer takes over, if the lieutenant dies or is incapacitated the Sergeant takes over, if the Sergeant dies or can't lead, the corporal takes over and on down the line to the most recent Private. In this way no matter what happens a platoon or a company can just keep fighting when necessary.
But, in regard to Presidents we have always been fairly lucky because most presidents have been patriots and kept the nation first. But, Trump is the first completely selfish president that constantly lies to the people as much as he does. I can't believe anything that Trump says ever because nothing truthful seems to EVER come out of his mouth about anything.
Why this is true is likely some sort of PTSD from childhood or something. But, finding another leader now as you can see might be very problematic on multiple levels.
However, keeping Trump this time as president for 4 years could easily end all life on earth the way he is presently going. This I think is the problem we all face here on earth now. Not just Americans.
