From my point of view the Democratic Party has become too out of touch with the reality of the survival of most Americans. It needs to come back to the basics of survival which is food, clothing and shelter for Americans. Without becoming more practical about every day survival the Democratic party will go the way of the DODO bird and become extinct.
This Democratic practicality was exemplified by FDR during the Great Depression and World war II. Somewhere in the 1970s the Democratic Party lost it's way into a form of idealism that moved too far away from the practicalities of the survival of the American people of all classes, poor, middle Class and Rich which is why Trump is now in charge and could destroy what our ancestors have built here since 1776 within the year if Democrats don't get their act together soon enough to find a way to fight back in an efficient way all the harm Trump is now doing not only to the U.S. but also to the whole world.
