Still Raining hard at 3 pm Sunday here in Mt. Shasta City

I was very surprised to look at the weather report because of the way weather people had been talking about Monday actually being the snow day. However, when I actually looked at the hour by hour temperatures they don't hit freezing (32 degrees Fahrenheit) or below until around Monday at Midnight.

However, then it will be snowing ongoing from about Midnight to 7 AM?

That could bring a whole lot of snow like it did the other day(Friday) where I had 1 to 2 feet of snow on top of my car at the hotel and had to move it to another location where I was nearer the road to make sure I didn't get stuck in how much snow is coming down.

Also, to the best of my knowledge Everitt Memorial Highway up Mt. Shasta and the Castle Lake Road are both closed at their first gates too.

However, Mt. Shasta Ski park is open this is what Google AI said about it today:

AI Overview
Yes, the road to Mt. Shasta Ski Park (Ski Park Hwy) is open, but chains or AWD are required due to snow conditions, and the road is plowed with a firm layer of snow.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Road Conditions: Ski Park Hwy is plowed throughout the day, but due to steady snowfall, expect a layer of snow on the road.
  • Chains/AWD Required: Chains or AWD are required on Ski Park Hwy.
  • Driving Precautions: Please watch your speed and spacing between other vehicles.
  • Weather Conditions: Snow showers are expected, with widespread blowing snow between 8am and 2pm. Total daytime snow accumulation of 14 to 20 inches is possible.
  • Gray Butte Closed: Gray Butte is closed due to weather conditions.
