This is likely because Trump has always had an interesting relationship with the Saudis and so does his son in law. Also, the Houthis have been a thorn in the side of the Saudis for years now and are militarily funded by Iran. So, by wiping out the Houthis like Trump plans to do he is also helping the Saudis in some ways defeat Iran too. This is what Trump really has in common with Saudi Arabia which is they both want Iran's present Government to cease to exist. And since the Iranians have tried to assassinate Trump more than once now it's possible both the Houthis and the present Iranian Government will be gone soon.
I said a lot here if you think about it. I'm not sure exactly what I think about what Trump is doing by the way. However, if you want Israel to survive I suppose it would be better if the present government of Iran and the Houthis ceased to exist?
