Two of the most important Classes when I grew up in the 1950s were Civics and Geography

One of the reasons we are having problems with Presidents like Trump is that the people are no longer being educated enough about how their government came to be and how the world actually looks like and how we are a part of this great great world we live in.

Without Civics courses being taught in public Schools and private schools across the land "How do we expect children and adults to understand and to revere the founding fathers and the sacrifices they made to create the amazing country we live in?

Cynicism is not useful in looking at our country. "IF YOU ONLY LOOK AT WHAT IT ISN'T YOU FORGET WHAT IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN."

If you look around the world you likely won't find a better system of government on earth.

However, then you have to look at something else too. Governments in Europe and places like South Korea and Japan often can do things that the U.S. cannot do.  Why?

I'm thinking it is because in relation to at least health care and the general care of their populations countries above 60 to 80 million people become dysfunctional in certain ways.

In other words a country as big as the U.S. might be good in times of war where other countries might not be organized enough for war.

However, in times of peace (or relative peace) like now this advantage starts slipping away from us as a country.

We tend to do better in War  than in peace as a nation especially when that peace lasts so far since 1945 because of Nuclear Weapons.

In other words there has been no ALL OUT WAR here on earth since 1945 and this has been a disadvantage for a warlike nation like the U.S.

So, how do we make our government more efficient?

Not with Trump!

Because Trump is only taking a sledge hammer to government which only destroys everything it touches.

So, one way we can return to greatness as a nation isn't Trump it is returning to teaching our children about our history both the good parts and the bad and letting them think about how bad the rest of the world is and has been too through learning about Geography.

One of the reasons people elected Trump is that not enough people understand enough about the U.S. Constitution and not enough people understand enough about other places and other nations.

Some Americans only know what is within 25 miles of where they live.

Unless more people are educated about the U.S. and the world our democracy and Constitution will be gone soon as well as our nation.
