They have tunnels built for them that were put in by miners from Earth sometime between 2500 and 3000 AD here on earth and after. So, they become Time Travelers too when hired by the Galactic Time Guard like Special missions here to Earth to prevent human extinction this century. So, likely if you went to Ganymede now there wouldn't be anything there yet (at least apparently not yet) because the mine shafts that they use as a base there haven't been built yet.
However, remember we are dealing with the Galactic Time Guard hiring the Space marauders as Mercenaries to prevent human extinction by almost any means necessary. So, traveling through time caused and sanctioned by the Galactic time Guard is a lot for them like our Delta Force being sent somewhere maybe on Army Blackhawk helicopters as in Blackhawk Down maybe?
Where do they get oxygen to Breathe there on Ganymeded?
There is more water on Ganymede than is presently on earth so all they have to do is to do electrolysis and separate the Hydrogen for fuel from the Oxygen they need to breathe. This is why they live there.
