The problem with College these days is many fold. First of all if you are middle Class you get student loans. Even in my own case I promised my son years ago now that if he graduated with his Bachelor's of Science Degree that we would pay for his student loans which we did to the tune of about $40,000 dollars. However, one of my daughter's friends is still paying off her student loans every month 10 years later too and this to some degree interferes with her life or being able to buy a house or Condo in her life at around 30 years of age too.
The point is that Getting a college degree isn't what it used to be. It's a perilous thing especially if you have to get student loans to go and then are not able to get a job in the field you are educated for. Even my son doesn't use his bachelor of Science Degree simply because it wasn't practical to do so, so he went and taught English as a 2nd language instead in South Korea in 2013 where they gave him a free apartment. However, you couldn't likely do this now but he did for around 5 years time before moving back to the U.S. with his family (wife and child). The point is that almost no one I know actually uses the college degrees that they got including my son's best friend from high school who got a degree in PHysics from UCSC. Instead he makes film documentaries all over the world now and travels all over instead of actually using his physics degree.
So, any kind of degree has nothing at all to do with what you wind up doing after college (unless maybe you are becoming a Doctor or Lawyer.
So, how many people actually use the degrees they were trained in? Mostly about 90% of the people with degrees are not in their trained field that I know of in my life.
Then the other way to look at this AI is taking people's jobs or better said "When people retire from many jobs they are replaced by computers or AI driven Machines and this will only increase over time. Why?
Because an AI can work 24 hours a day with no breaks or time off to sleep ever and they never get sick and if they do they are just replaced within 24 hours or a weeks time by another Machine or AI.
So, getting a college degree these days is a very iffy thing at best as to whether the student loans will be worth it for you long term.
Even the Obamas (president and Wife) were still paying student loans off into their late 40s or early 50s and I think had just about paid off their student loans by the time he became president.
Something to think about in regard to your future if you are 12 to 20 or more years old.
