I started to realize how many people are not coming to Hawaii because they are afraid of getting stuck here on the Islands. However, we are already thinking about Cruise Ships as an alternative if flight schedules get any worse. Since my father and his first wife took steam ships from Tahiti (where they had been for 2 years) to Hawaii (to Honolulu) in 1941 as the war started to become a real thing in the Pacific.
So, from my point of view and my wife's point of view we could always take a Cruise ship which takes 5 to 10 days to get back to the mainland. However, this could be more expensive than many people could afford. And most people are not retired mostly like my wife and I are also. So, they might not have the time to take a cruise at the end of their Hawaii vacation.
So, I noticed less people at the Luau last night that likely is because of insecurity of people in regard to Air Travel (ANYWHERE IN THE U.S.)
