This is a great place to be safe snorkeling while in the ocean. They have built a lava stone breakwater to keep out things like Sharks so you won't be eaten there alive. But, some of the fish come over in waves over the top of this breakwater so there often are schools of fish for you to snorkel around. The breakwater protects you from the worst surf problems for snorkeling and it also protects you from sharks. So, it is relatively safe for children and adults of all ages to snorkel and swim there. It is by Kapaa too on Kauai.
