Maybe the most important thing is to likely realize sacrificing your life usually isn't necessary. Why?
Because most problems are going to be solved by time travel.
However, this does not include population reduction which usually comes from starvation which is going to increase exponentially worldwide because of Global Climate changes which causes extreme crop failures worldwide.
Though places like the U.S. where people are more rich can afford to pay other countries to ship their food to us, other 3rd world countries that also need these foods are going to starve more and more too.
So, understanding all this is happening might be important.
However, sacrificing your life militarily might be counterproductive on many different fronts especially in the bigger arenas on earth where time travel likely will solve problems where people don't have to die in battle that much.
For example, one time traveler can eliminate world leaders who cause mass deaths if necessary any day of the week.
Usually what happens is that their births will be prevented so those leaders were never born. In this way the future is more consistent according to Galactic ways of thinking.
Understanding your place in the universe is helpful in the survival of you and your family.
