This might be the most power customers with P G and E the utility company in Northern California that I have ever seen in Monterey County. I cannot remember this many being out at one time in that particular county. However, other counties in the area are around 5000 to 10,000 custormers without power most starting Tuesday night like us here on the coast.
In the Big Sur Area they had 7 inches of rain by Wednesday morning but it has been raining off and on since Tuesday night from this atmospheric river so we really don't know at present how much water has fallen out of the sky in the Santa Lucia mountains above Big Sur. because right now it's 3 am in the morning Friday morning and they haven't mentioned just how much rain has fallen there in the news since Wednesday morning.
The most customers I have ever seen without power before in a storm is around 4000 to 5000 customers in the last 25 years since we lived in our present house in the Greater SF Bay area.
And each of these power customers could be from 1 to 10 people so you could do the math and average out that somewhere between 2 and 5 people per outage have no power since before Christmas on Tuesday night or since then.
