The Problem with Churches in General is demonstrated very eloquently in "Wake up Dead Man: a knives out story" (2025) on Netflix
However, in this particular movie the ONLY thing that keeps all these people glued together is an extreme way of looking at things that I can ONLY call extreme fundamentalism.
However, in all religions I have found that people who are fundamentalist tend to also have extreme cases of PTSD from either abuse or being in a war time situation and having to kill people or watch people be tortured to death.
So, ALL the main Characters in this movie are so damaged to begin with it is hard to picture them even alive without their church. So, the problems of the church are invisible to all the main characters in this church.
In it's own way it is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. However, because you cannot help but laugh at how extreme these characters are somehow it is also extremely entertaining because this is just so well written.
God Help Them and all people suffering like this worldwide.
By God's Grace
By the way this is an amazing Cast which is really quite remarkable in
this movie. It's worth watching just to see what good actors all these
people are!
IF you watch this please enjoy it as much as I did. After
being raised in a Cult I see the Cult like problems of all these people
connected to this church quite easily.
