This is one of the many things I have learned since I went into the emergency room on January 4th. The hospital diet might have killed me already had I been really skinny. So, having a few extra pounds in a health emergency might save your life. But, you likely don't want to be over 20 pounds overweight because that could be a problem in a different way. But, having a few extra pounds might save your life if you ever had to go through what I'm presently going through.
However, one of the interesting things is this diet I have to be on is completely gluten free:
In other words
No bread
No Pasta
No Pizza
no Cakes
no cookies
no chips made out of wheat
No nothing made out of wheat
No milk unless it is yoghurt
no Cheese
etc.
What this does for someone 77 years old is that my hands and fingers hurt less because in an older person gluten gives you a lot of pain especially in your hands and fingers and other joints and you don't fully realize this until you give up all gluten for a few weeks like I have because of my three day hospital stay starting on January 4th 2026.
So, although it is hard not to eat anything normal much at all it is also a much more pain free diet to be on as well.
So, once again here is the diet they put me on in the hospital on January 4th in order for me to stay alive.
Chicken Broth
Jello
Apple juice
Orange juice
This was Sunday night when I started this diet after surviving the emergency room that morning.
However, by Thursday morning I was so spaced out from this diet that I barely knew my own name.
So, someone thought of something I could have which is power Core protein shakes which brought my mind back online. For some reason this product doesn't seem to affect the milk curdling effect in the stomach. Maybe it's because they remove the lactose from the drink. However, the protein is so life sustaining that many people drink two of these per day instead of meals and then only have dinner to lose weight. They come in Chocolate (which I like a lot) and two other flavors which are good too "Strawberry Banana and Vanilla. This product can also be bought at Costco (here in California). But, I'm not sure about other states.
