Though I stayed away from the Grateful Dead Concerts because they were just too druggy for me I had to deal with my then 15 year old Step Daughter being interested in all of this and I wasn't able to get her mother to stop all this at the time. I could see how people over 18 likely should have the right to do things like this but I thought that age 15 was too young to be involved in these kinds of concerts then.
However, no one listened to me at the time.
However, I can see how many people loved the more spontaneous Jam sessions that the Grateful Dead were into where they kept the riffs going with newer and newer evolutions of whatever they were playing. They also helped a lot of young lost people who followed their concerts and helped them get into trades where they could actually make money and not be stoned out all the time.
So, I understand the attraction but I was never a Dead Head because I wasn't into any kinds of drugs at all even legal ones you get with a prescription until I got so old I couldn't survive without some prescription medicines like Armour Thyroid and Amiodarone to stay alive and healthy.
However, I know many people who are or were DeadHeads which is what people into the Grateful Dead always called themselves so I understand the attraction for some people into this musical cult way of thinking.
Oh by the way the people I mentioned who were or Are DeadHeads are a lawyer and a Nurse now so this didn't harm their lives at all being DeadHeads.
