In the U.S. lower 48 states the black bears appear to be more tame than the Grizzly Bears. However, in Canada it appears that the smaller Black bears are more aggressive than the Grizzly bears often. This gentleman appears to be newly from India over the last 3 years and so might not have known just how dangerous Black bears are in Canada.
I have been confronted by a Black Bear male while driving a 4 wheel drive in the 1980s with my father and then 10 year old son. The Black Bear raised up on his two back legs to attack us potentially. So, I backed up the vehicle so he wouldn't tear off my hood or a door which they are often known to do. After he realized we weren't going to confront or attack him he went back down on all 4s and walked off into the forest from the remote dirt road at about 4000 to 5000 feet on the McCloud and Medicine Lake Side of Mt. Shasta.
Another time I was in Yellowstone National Park and a Grizzly bear was eating flowers on a sunny afternoon and about 20 people were watching him at a distance. One man got too close so the ranger present arrested him and took him away because he didn't want a dead human or have to euthanize a bear because someone was being an idiot and getting too close so the bear likely would have attacked him because of getting into the bears personal space and territory.
